Project Description

The purpose of this project was to transmit the water from Yaba, Hilli & Al Laith Dams to Shoaibah Plant. Water transmission system works include pipeline works such as trenching, bedding, steel pipe supply, laying, padding, backfilling, construction of valve chambers along with all civil and electro-mechanical works, supply and installation of markers and sign boards.

The sizes and quantities of steel pipeline are as follows:

Diameter 1500mm (158,500 meters)
Diameter 500 mm (40,600 meters)
Fiber Optic Cable (516,100 meters)
Line Valves: 31 Nos Diameter 1500 mm and 8 Nos Diameter 500 mm

Replacement of Segment (A&B) of Al Ghat-Buraida Pipeline in New Steel Pipe, 1600mm Dia. at Ring Road Crossing

Eastern Province Water Transmission System Phase-II

Project Description

The purpose of the project was to transfer the potable water (500,000 cum/day) produced at the New Marafiq Desalination Plant located within the Industrial City of Jubail to the cities of the Eastern Province namely Safwa, Qatif, Sayhat & Dammam as well as upgrading the blending stations located in Dammam, Ras Tanurah, Al Jubail, Dahran & Al Khobar. The project was also including the upgrading works in the existing Hofuf Water Transmission System which supplies water to Abqaiq and Hofuf cities from Al Khobar Desalination Plant to increase the capacity from 91,000 cum to 182,000 cum.

The design capacity of the pumping station (PS1) and the pipeline was 500,000 cum/day. And the total length of the pipeline was 135 km where the transmission pipeline diameter was 76″, 68″, 64″& 60″. In addition 12 each steel tanks with a total capacity of 730,000 cum constructed at PS1 & various blending stations along with several support and ancillary building and facilities.

Project Description

The system was built to transfer the desalinated water from desalination plant at Jubail to Riyadh and Qassim. Yuksel Saudia executed the pipeline works of Segment I and Segment IV of Riyadh-Qassim section of the project.

Yuksel performed the pipeline under two different Contracts: One of them was 20 km prestressed concrete pipeline having a diameter 2000 mm and 204 km twin pipeline having a diameter 1600 mm from Line-C (HPT) to Origin (Segment I). And the other one again prestressed concrete pipeline with a length of 208 Km and having a diameter 1600 mm from Al- Ghat to Buraydah (Segment IV). The pipe line works composed of all kind of civil, electrical and mechanical works for a fully functional water pipeline, laying of communication cable along the pipeline, cathodic protection works, 4 km long lake crossing, road crossing by thrust boring method with a total length of 595 m, and construction of all kind of superstructures along the pipelines.

Riyadh-Qassim Water Transmission System – Water Reservoirs

Project Description

This project included the construction of 6 water reservoirs, each with a diameter of 80 meters and a holding capacity of 50,000 m3 and 11 water reservoirs, each with a diameter of 56 meters and holding capacity of 20,000 m3 by using the post-tensioned reinforced concrete method.

Yanbu – Medina Water Transmission System

Project Description

The project was designed to convey desalinated water from Yanbu Water Conversion Plant to Madina with a capacity of 363,000 m3/day water. Project consist of three different group of work; Pipeline, Stations & Reservoirs and Housing Compound. Yuksel has performed all kind of the civil works such as trenching and sand filling, backfilling, valley protection of existing 32’’ line, construction drain, vent, tap off, line valve stations and construction of maintenance road along 60’’ and 32’’ steel pipelines having a total length of 200 km, valve chambers, road crossings by thrustboring, foundations of steel tanks (4×140,000 m3), in addition, construction of station buildings, concrete reservoirs (12×50,000 m3, 1×35,000 m3, 2×25,000 m3, 1×5000 m3) and housing compound having approximately 41,000 m2 covered area.
